JUNIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICER
. General. The recruitment of Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) is carried out on as required basis. Look for information in leading National News paper or in “Employment News”.
Age. Must not be below 27 years or over 34 years.
Educational Qualifications. Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. In addition to that they must have qualification in own religious denomination.
(a) Pandit - Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or
Equivalent standard in the regional language
Concerned. Those who have passed BA with
Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main)
Subject but have not done Madhyama /
Bhushan are also eligible.
(b) Maulvi - Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Abib Alim in Urdu or
equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.
Those who have passed BA with Arabic / Urdu as one of the elective (main) subject but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic or Adib Alim in Urdu.
(c) Granthi - Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard in the
regional language concerned.
Those who have passed BA with Punjabi as one of the elective (main) subjects, but have not done Vidwan in Punjabi.
(d) Padri - Any person who has been ordained priesthood
by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
Culture. Candidates should belong to the culture of the appropriate religious denomination as acceptable to the troops.
. Physical Standard.
Height - 160 cm
Weight - 50 Kgs
Chest - Minimum 77 cm (Expansion minimum 05 Cms)
Run - 1 Mile run in 08 Minutes
. Recruiting Procedure.
Application. Application as per the proforma given in the advertisement should reach the concerned HQ Recruiting Zone/ Army Recruiting Office (ARO) by post before the last date. HQ Recruiting Zone will issue call letters to candidates found eligible. Candidates should report to the respective HQ Recruiting Zone/Army Recruiting Office (ARO) on the given date and venue for initial screening.
Screening & Checking of Documents. This include checking of original education certificates, physical examination and medical examination.
Medical. All candidates passing physical fitness test and physical Measurement will be put through medical examination. Only those candidates who are found fit will be issued with an admit card for appearing in written examination.
Written Examination. Written examination comprises of two papers. Papers may be answered either in Hindi or in English :-
. Paper –I. This contains question on General Knowledge (GK) & Current affairs (Maximum marks 250)
. Paper –II. To test the knowledge specific to particular religious denomination to which the candidate belongs (Maximum marks 250)
. Interview. Successful candidates will be interviewed at nominated Regimental Centre by the Integrated Headquarter. (Maximum Marks 500)
. Final Selection. Final selection will be done by a Board of Officers on merit base and selected candidates will be sent to Training Centre for Basic Military Training.
. Qualifing Criteria. Should obtain a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and overall aggregate of 50% marks in the written examination.
